The South Carolina Gamecocks finished off an impressive 10-2 season with an impressive 34-13 victory over the Clemson Tigers.  Gamecock head coach Steve Spurrier has chosen a more conventional approach on offense with the Gamecocks instead of the "fun and gun" which was made famous during his tenure in Florida, and with a back like Lattimore I can see why.  South Carolina is ranked towards the bottom of the NCAA in passing yards per game averaging just 177 per game, but the Gamecock's ground attack has been very effective averaging 198 yards per game.  Defensively, South Carolina has been outstanding this season allowing a stingy 18.8 points per game, which ranks South Carolina 13th in the nation.  The Gamecocks will no doubt try and contain Rex Burkhead and the Nebraska ground attack and force Taylor Martinez to beat them through the air, which has been a problem for the Husker quarterback in the past.
The Nebraska Cornhuskers finished up their first season in the Big Ten with an impressive victory over the Iowa Hawkeyes.  The Huskers were in the running for the Big Ten Championship game most of the season, but a late season loss to the Michigan Wolverines ended the Huskers championship run.  Nebraska had a case of culture shock this season as Nebraska had to prepare for an entirely new slate of teams, and new style of play heading from the Big 12 to the Big Ten, and to their credit a 9-3 record is still very solid.  Martinez gets a lot of national attention as the quarterback, but there is no question that the Huskers offense runs through their durable workhorse of a back Rex Burkhead.Steve Spurrier and his Gamecocks have struggled in bowl games the past three seasons going 0-2 straight up, and Bo Pelini and the Huskers are an even .500 in the last three years with a bowl record of 1-1.

Dave Haywood and Lady Antebellum gets Married

All three members of country supergroup Lady Antebellum are officially off the market, as Dave Haywood married Kelli Cashiola on a private farm just outside Nashville on Saturday. The bride, 30, wore a white lace dress and a white flower in her hair, while singer/songwriter Dave Barnes provided the music for the happy occasion, according to People. Several wedding guests took to Twitter to offer congratulations to the newlyweds. "The Dave Haywood/Kelli Cashiola wedding was awesome. Like a movie," fellow Nashville country trio Mockingbird Sun Tweeted on Sunday. "Wish them the very best!" Attendee Kyle Key Tweeted, "Back from secret wedding location. What a wedding! New Nike NFL Alternative Uniforms

The Carolina Panthers' new Nike uniforms were unveiled on Tuesday, along with a hidden message. The Panthers will have the words "Keep Pounding" stitched on the collars of their jerseys in honor of late linebacker and assistant coach Sam Mills.It is this kind of gesture that should be on every NFL uniform, remembering those who meant so much to the league. Mills was diagnosed with intestinal cancer in August 2003. Despite undergoing chemotherapy and radiation treatment, he remained on the field for the Panthers during the 2003-2004 season, and his inspirational plea to "keep pounding" led the team to a victory over the Dallas Cowboys in the divisional round. Mills said before the game,  "When I found out I had cancer, there were two things I could do—quit or keep pounding. I'm a fighter. I kept pounding. You're fighters, too. Keep pounding!"
