AS the 25 billionth app was downloaded from the iTunes store last week, it was a celebration of both the indie app developer and the individual curation of content. In Singapore, however, apps are increasingly falling under the domain of Big Business.While quirky free apps continue to be launched, the money here is flowing in two opposite directions: towards hard commerce in which people spend money through the app, and enterprise apps which are meant as tools for internal company use.   App developers such as Buuuk have seen enterprise app work for clients go from virtually non-existent to serious money in recent times. 'About one-third of what we're doing is enterprise apps and the remaining two-thirds are consumer apps. Historic Business tour of Kenya

At least 400 businesspeople from Tanzania are expected to participate in a three-day business trip to Kenya through Namanga border post in a caravan dubbed ‘100 cars’.The historic event will be organised by an Arusha-based entrepreneur in partnership with the East African Community (EAC). The trip is meant to expose the Tanzanian business community to the EAC business.“We are calling the trip ‘100 cars’ because it will involve 400 people and every car will be having four people,” said Rosemary Ndesokia, executive director of the Arusha media and advertising firm commonly ‘Arusha Mambo’.   The trip will involve small-scale, medium and large scale businesspeople.
