East West Shrine Game - Since 1925 the East-West Shrine Game has been more than just a football game. It’s been a showcase for the next generation of NFL greats and a priceless benefit event for Shriners Hospitals for Children®. The East-West Shrine Game is the longest-running all-star college football game, combining great football with a great cause and creating experiences for players that will last a lifetime.
 
The 87th Annual East-West Shrine Game® will be played Saturday January 21, 2012 at 4 p.m., EST, benefitting the 22 Shriners Hospitals for Children® in the United States, Canada and Mexico. For the past 86 years, this game has proven to be the launching pad for numerous NFL players. Tom Brady, John Elway, Eddie George, Greg Jennings, Brett Favre and numerous other future stars all showcased their talents in this game. There are 246 former Shrine Game players in the NFL now, and 62 East-West Game alumni are in the Pro Football Hall of Fame. Forty-five players from the 2011 game were selected in this year’s National Football League draft.
                                                                           
For the first time in some years, the East-West Shrine Game will be carried live on a radio network distributed via satellite by Skyview Networks and made available to radio stations throughout the country. The game can also be heard on a special East-West Shrine Game Radio Channel available on well over a 100 million of smartphones worldwide from the Tunein Radio app. Much of the country can also see the game live on the NFL Network.
Patrick Kinas will be joined by Brian Jordan in the radio booth with Rick Berkey reporting in from the sidelines. Kinas is a veteran broadcaster based in North Carolina and has been frequently featured in the college football TV-Radio booth for East Carolina University, North Carolina State University,  MASN, CBS College Sports and ESPN.

Dave Haywood and Lady Antebellum gets Married

All three members of country supergroup Lady Antebellum are officially off the market, as Dave Haywood married Kelli Cashiola on a private farm just outside Nashville on Saturday. The bride, 30, wore a white lace dress and a white flower in her hair, while singer/songwriter Dave Barnes provided the music for the happy occasion, according to People. Several wedding guests took to Twitter to offer congratulations to the newlyweds. "The Dave Haywood/Kelli Cashiola wedding was awesome. Like a movie," fellow Nashville country trio Mockingbird Sun Tweeted on Sunday. "Wish them the very best!" Attendee Kyle Key Tweeted, "Back from secret wedding location. What a wedding! New Nike NFL Alternative Uniforms

The Carolina Panthers' new Nike uniforms were unveiled on Tuesday, along with a hidden message. The Panthers will have the words "Keep Pounding" stitched on the collars of their jerseys in honor of late linebacker and assistant coach Sam Mills.It is this kind of gesture that should be on every NFL uniform, remembering those who meant so much to the league. Mills was diagnosed with intestinal cancer in August 2003. Despite undergoing chemotherapy and radiation treatment, he remained on the field for the Panthers during the 2003-2004 season, and his inspirational plea to "keep pounding" led the team to a victory over the Dallas Cowboys in the divisional round. Mills said before the game,  "When I found out I had cancer, there were two things I could do—quit or keep pounding. I'm a fighter. I kept pounding. You're fighters, too. Keep pounding!"
