Natalie Portman Signs Up For Two new Movies
Natalie Portman has signed up for two new Terrence Malick movies.
Denzel Washington pushed himself to the extremes on the set of his new film Safe House after volunteering to experience a horrific water boarding torture.
The actor plays an ex-Cia agent battling to escape rebel soldiers in Africa, and to fully understand his character, he opted to put himself through a terrifying torture scene, where water was poured over a cloth on his face.
He tells New York Magazine, "I wanted to see what it would be like. It's strange. You can't breathe in, because the water comes in, and it's filling up your mouth.
"And that was just one time for a short time. Imagine having that done for 20, 30 seconds? You will give up the answers! You may not necessarily tell the truth, but you will tell (your captors) whatever they want to hear."
Director Daniel Espinosa was against the star putting himself through the experience - and admits he was left disturbed by what he saw.
He adds, "I was terrified, but I let him go and I had to watch him do it. He went all out for this movie. I would definitely not like to be waterboarded. It was intense. Disturbing. I had sympathetic pain. I always get sympathetic pain. I wish I didn't. I felt like I was drowning."
BILLY Connolly is going from Big Yin to tiny dwarf to complete the cast of Peter Jackson's movie version of The Hobbit.The Scottish comic and actor will play Dain Ironfoot, a great dwarf warrior, in the two-part film prequel to JRR Tolkien's The Lord Of The Rings.Jackson won huge acclaim and massive box office success for the original Rings trilogy.
He confirmed the casting for Ironfoot - a cousin of Thorin Oakenshield, to be played by Richard Armitage - in an interview.
He told The Hollywood Reporter: "We could not think of a more fitting actor to play Dain Ironfoot, the staunchest and toughest of dwarves, than Billy Connolly, the Big Yin himself.
"With Billy stepping into this role, the cast of The Hobbit is now complete. We can't wait to see him on the battlefield."
Martin Freeman is starring in the lead role of hobbit Bilbo Baggins, while his Sherlock co-star Benedict Cumberbatch is also appearing as Smaug the dragon.
Actors reprising their roles from the previous Rings films include Sir Ian McKellen as wizard Gandalf, Cate Blanchett, Ian Holm, Christopher Lee, Hugo Weaving, Elijah Wood, Orlando Bloom and Andy Serkis.
The film has already begun shooting on location in New Zealand, where sets including the the hobbit land of The Shire have been built.
The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey, will be released in cinemas on December 14 and the second film, The Hobbit: There And Back Again, will follow a year later.
The Oscar-winning actress - who is taking some time off from Hollywood following the birth of her son Aleph with partner Benjamin Millipied last June - will star in 'Knight of Cups' and 'Lawless', with the former set to start shooting this summer and the latter straight after, Deadline.com reports.
'Knight of Cups' also stars Christian Bale, Cate Blanchett and Isabel Lucas and as the plot remains a secret, it is not known what part Natalie will play.
Portman, Bale and Blanchett will also star in 'Lawless', as will Ryan Gosling, Rooney Mara and Haley Bennett and again the storyline is not known.
However, Bale was recently overheard saying his character was "kind of an asshole".
Although the films share some cast members, they've been described as separate narratives, so it's not thought they're linked in any plot way.

Anneka Rice comeback in tv show
Anneka Rice,the energetic blonde host famous for leaping out of helicopters in 1980s TV show Treasure Hunt,is said to be returning to TV presenting after a 17-year break.Reports say that Rice is looking to relaunch her career and will star in "at least two" new BBC shows. Kelly osbourne's dog was mistaken for a rabbit.The TV presenter took her Pomeranian, Sid, with her for a coffee, but another customer mistook the distinctively small, long haired canine for the hopping creature.
