UFL cancels two matches due to weather

The United Football League (UFL) cancelled its two matches in the University of Makati football field earlier today.League leader Kaya was leading Stallion Giligan's, 1-nil, when the match was put on hold in the 64th minute due to bad weather condition.
A few minutes later, both teams agreed with the match commissioner to cancel the match for the safety of the players.
"Safety first," said UFL Asst. Technical Director Ritchie Gannaban.
"We'll consult the technical committee whether the match will be replayed or to be continued from the time it was stopped."
The heavy donwnpour started in the closing minutes of the opening match won by Global, 5-3, over defending champion Air Force.
The playing field was soaked with water but upon checking, the match commissioner gave it a go for the crucial Kaya-Stallion match.
Eric Dagroh put Kaya on top when he sneaked past his defender and the goalie in the 34th minute.
Occasional lightning and thunderstorm prompted the league officials to stop the match.
Subsequently, the last match featuring second division leaders Pachanga and Antonov Vodka-Diliman was also postponed and will be played on Wednesday in the same venue.

Dave Haywood and Lady Antebellum gets Married

All three members of country supergroup Lady Antebellum are officially off the market, as Dave Haywood married Kelli Cashiola on a private farm just outside Nashville on Saturday. The bride, 30, wore a white lace dress and a white flower in her hair, while singer/songwriter Dave Barnes provided the music for the happy occasion, according to People. New Nike NFL Alternative Uniforms

The Carolina Panthers' new Nike uniforms were unveiled on Tuesday, along with a hidden message. The Panthers will have the words "Keep Pounding" stitched on the collars of their jerseys in honor of late linebacker and assistant coach Sam Mills.It is this kind of gesture that should be on every NFL uniform, remembering those who meant so much to the league. Mills was diagnosed with intestinal cancer in August 2003. Despite undergoing chemotherapy and radiation treatment, he remained on the field for the Panthers during the 2003-2004 season, and his inspirational plea to "keep pounding" led the team to a victory over the Dallas Cowboys in the divisional round.
