100 Most Influential people in the world 2012 Announced

Announced  100 most influential people in the world for 2012 on Wednesday, April 18, 2012. Among the list was entertainers, political leaders, comedians, athletes, scientists, writers, and CEO’s.
This years 100 most influential list included 54 international figures from 37 different countries and several controversial figures. The list is divided into five categories: Moguls, Breakouts, Icons, Pioneers and Leaders and compiled from an online poll of readers.
How does TIME pick the 100 most influential people? They report on the website, “They are the people who inspire us, entertain us, challenge us and change our world. Meet the breakouts,pioneers, moguls, leaders and icons who make up this year’s TIME 100.”
This year’s most influential list included 38 women. That’s more than ever for the TIME’s influential list. TIME first launched the list in 1999 and since then has included only a few repeat influential people under specific categories, like Oprah Winfrey.
Each person on the list is accompanied by a tribute to him/her written by another notable figure.
 Rick Stengel said, “The list was about the infinite possibilities of influence and the power of influence to change the world. No one can tweet a phrase that reaches millions in a flash. Influence was never easier or more ephemeral. Which is why we try to choose those people whose influence is both lasting and, with a few notable exceptions, laudable.”

Dave Haywood and Lady Antebellum gets Married

All three members of country supergroup Lady Antebellum are officially off the market, as Dave Haywood married Kelli Cashiola on a private farm just outside Nashville on Saturday. The bride, 30, wore a white lace dress and a white flower in her hair, while singer/songwriter Dave Barnes provided the music for the happy occasion, according to People. Several wedding guests took to Twitter to offer congratulations to the newlyweds. "The Dave Haywood/Kelli Cashiola wedding was awesome. Like a movie," fellow Nashville country trio Mockingbird Sun Tweeted on Sunday. "Wish them the very best!" Attendee Kyle Key Tweeted, "Back from secret wedding location. What a wedding! New Nike NFL Alternative Uniforms

The Carolina Panthers' new Nike uniforms were unveiled on Tuesday, along with a hidden message. The Panthers will have the words "Keep Pounding" stitched on the collars of their jerseys in honor of late linebacker and assistant coach Sam Mills.It is this kind of gesture that should be on every NFL uniform, remembering those who meant so much to the league. Mills was diagnosed with intestinal cancer in August 2003. Despite undergoing chemotherapy and radiation treatment, he remained on the field for the Panthers during the 2003-2004 season, and his inspirational plea to "keep pounding" led the team to a victory over the Dallas Cowboys in the divisional round. Mills said before the game,  "When I found out I had cancer, there were two things I could do—quit or keep pounding. I'm a fighter. I kept pounding. You're fighters, too. Keep pounding!"
